In honor of Bob Moog’s birthday Asheville Brewing Company will be making a special “Moog Filtered Ale” with Proceeds of Limited Edition Brew to Benefit the Bob Moog Foundation.
Moog Synths have been the backbone of many Electro & Industrial bands like Kraftwork, Prodigy, NIN, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Vangelis (Blade Runner soundtrack) and the Cure to name a few.

With the release of the new “Mikey” portable recorder for the iPhone, Announced at CES by Blue Microphones, We though it would be a good time to do a roundup of gear for the band on the go.
First up …… The Mikey by Blue. Why is this so cool? Well for starters its capable of recording CD quality audio 44.1 kHz/16bit and it has 3 levels of gain a 3.5mm line input for direct recording as well as a USB pass-through through that allows both simultaneous charging and syncing. Other features include a 230-degree range of flexibity with seven detent positions as well as its own carrying case.
The Mikey Portable Recorder will be available later this spring at a retail price of $99.99
